Pressing Toward the Mark

Last week, in verses 4-11, we saw Paul’s credentials before he met Christ. If anyone could boast about religious accomplishments, it was Paul. He had attained much, but he says the things that were gain for him, he counted loss. In our text today (verses 12-16), Paul tells us about his pursuit of knowing Christ. His standing is righteous, but Paul’s condition is that he has a long way to go. It is here that we find what the Christian life should look like. Our walk with Christ is a pursuit of a deep personal knowledge of Jesus Christ- to know Him.
